July 23, 2013 - Since 1995, the Metropolitan Award Dinner honoree(s) have the distinct pleasure of choosing a charitable recipient of the monies raised at the annual event. The funds raised from this year’s Metropolitan Award Dinner will be donated to ArtsWave, a Greater Cincinnati non-profit arts support group, and Covington Partners, a non-profit organization offering mentoring, family strengthening, and physical/mental health programs.
The Metropolitan Award is presented annually to a citizen(s) of Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky displaying efforts to improve lives and making a significant contribution toward community unification. This year the Award Committee was co-chaired by Brent Cooper, President of C-Forward Information Technologies, and Doug Bolton, Managing Principal of Cassidy Turley. The Metropolitan Club welcomed nearly 200 community leaders to honor Chuck and Julie Geisen Scheper for their contributions in the tri-state.
ArtsWave, Chief Operating Officer, Alecia Kintner, is appreciative of the support provided by the Metropolitan Award Dinner each year. “Funds provided by the Metropolitan Award Dinner will help strengthen small and mid-size arts organizations that are vital to our cultural landscape. By encouraging the growth of a wide variety of arts groups in many different communities, ArtsWave and the Metropolitan Award Dinner spread the benefits of music, theater, dance and more to people throughout Greater Cincinnati.”
Covington Partners Director, Stacie Strotman, is encouraged by the support of the community. “With funding from the Metropolitan Award Dinner, Covington Partners will continue to offer programming for over 2,500 children in Covington. By providing an atmosphere of academic and enrichment support from early childhood to college, we will help our students see and reach their fullest potential.”
The Metropolitan Club recognizes Metropolitan Award honorees for their contributions which are in unison with the Club’s mission and purpose: facilitate the unification of our region through business, social and philanthropic endeavors while “Bridging the Bridges” of our Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Community. Moreover, the Metropolitan Club’s charitable mission is to give a portion of its profits back to the community. Since 1992, over 1.2 million dollars have been donated back to the community through The Metropolitan Award dinner and other Club charitable activities.
