Covington, Kentucky – July 16,
2014 – This fall marks the 15th year of Covington based non-profit, Covington
Partners, an organization who partners with
Covington Independent School District to reduce barriers to student
achievement. To celebrate, Covington Partners will host a birthday party
luncheon on Friday, August 15th from 11:30am – 1:30pm at the Madison
Event Center in Covington, KY.
The birthday party is being co-hosted
by Brent Cooper of C-Forward, a fellow Covington business celebrating its 15th
year, and Dr. Ed Hughes from Gateway Community and Technical College. Started
in 1999 to reduce drug abuse and violence among Covington youth, Covington
Partners has since expanded offerings to include a variety of mentoring, family
strengthening, and physical/mental health programs. Every aspect of Covington
Partner’s work is focused solely on supporting the children of Covington.
“For 15 years Covington Partners has
worked every day to keep
the community moving forward by eliminating boundaries to learning and success,
said Stacie Strotman, Executive Director, Covington Partners. “We have seen
tremendous student success as a direct impact from our programming. However,
the work is not complete. Through
innovation and collaboration we will continue to create safe and engaging
environments for students and families to learn and grow for many more years to
come.”
In true birthday party
fashion, local Covington businesses are being asked to purchase birthday
candles on the Covington Partners birthday cake, as a way to support and
sustain Covington Partners programming. Birthday Candles are still available,
as well as, spots to attend the free luncheon.
