Per guidance from the Kentucky Department of Education, Covington Independent Public Schools will be unable to offer an in-person program this summer; however, the school district and community partners are working diligently to provide an alternative two-week virtual program.
Camp Covington 2020: #TeamKentucky, open to incoming kindergarten through eighth grade students in Covington Schools (20/21 school year), will take place July 7-July 17 (Tuesday-Friday weekly). The program will be divided into two divisions: Elementary (grades K-5) and Middle (grades 6-8).
While the program will not follow a traditional summer program model, it will be fun and engaging; involve many community partners, certified teachers, and school staff; and will occur through several platforms (workbooks, program website, pre-recorded videos, live virtual hangouts, phone calls, and home deliveries). Students without Wi-Fi capability or a digital device will still be able to participate through the workbook option. In addition, the majority of the program supplies will be provided to families prior to the start of the program.
Registration for the program is required and will close June 19, 2020. For more information or to register for Camp Covington 2020: #TeamKentucky, please click HERE (English) or HERE (Spanish).
