The newest member of Covington Partners’ team, Zakkiyyah Abdulrahim, started helping others at an early age. She served as a tutor at the Northern Kentucky Community Center and as an assistant to the center’s former Executive Director Bill Martin.
She is a graduate of Holmes High School and majored in human services and counseling. Ms. Abdulrahim is the newest community learning center coordinator at Ninth District Elementary School.
She has numerous certifications, including trauma responsive care, and previously served as a home visitor with Every Child Succeeds and a volunteer with Court Appointed Special Advocates in Hamilton County.
One of the things that drew Ms. Abdulrahim to the CLC job was her children’s own experience attending afterschool programming.
“All of my children have been members of CLC,” she said. “I truly loved what my children were able to learn and experience in the program. I am looking forward to bringing clubs and enrichment courses to the children and connecting with their families.”
Ms. Abdulrahim has four children and two grandchildren and many interests. She loves to hike and fish, especially with her son in her pontoon boat. She writes, bakes and makes jewelry. She also has her own business. She spent time in Paris during high school, and is awesome at playing along with Jeopardy.
