The Power of Period Products: Pink Link Project

The Power of Period Products: Pink Link Project
Did you know that nearly 1 in 4 students in the United States struggle to afford period products?

Period poverty is real and happening NOW. Lack of access to period products and menstrual health education perpetuates harmful taboos surrounding menstruation and forces people who menstruate to resort to unsafe and/or unhygienic methods to manage their periods.

Enter, the Pink Link Project, an initiative to reduce a barrier that some students face every month during their menstrual cycle. The initiative provides free period products to students in the partnering schools of Partners for Change--no questions asked. The grassroots effort began in March 2020 in Covington Independent Public Schools, and is now expanding to other partnering school districts.

Dr. Angie Taylor, board member and avid supporter of the Pink Link Project, says that “the thought of students missing school because they don’t have period products is truly a motivating factor” for her. Dr. Taylor has spearheaded several period product campaigns and works to make sure missing school due to lack of period products is no longer an option.

Throughout October, Pink Link Project raises funds, period products, and awareness of period poverty. On October 12 (Period Action Day), we asked you to consider donating to the cause. Today, we ask you to take action.
